Soft Strip Demolition
What is soft strip demolition?
Soft strip demolition is the removal of all the non-structural items and materials on a demolition site. It covers both internal and external elements of a building and must take place before demolition, refurbishment or re-modelling can start.
DDS provide soft strip or strip out services for renovation, refurbishment, and demolition projects, supplying a total service from simple removal of fixtures and fittings to the design and removal of complex structural elements, such as the removal of floors, ceilings, and sections of wall. We employ various methods of diamond sawing and drilling, and the use of robotic excavators (Brokks).
As with all our services we maintain the highest standards independent of the size or complexity of the contract. Health and safety is consistently at the forefront with environmental issues permanently under consideration to ensure every contract is completed with regulation compliance as a bare minimum.
Our careful monitoring and control of Health & Safety and the minimisation of Environmental Impacts ensures that we deliver our service with the comprehensive consideration that our clients require from their supply chains; we understand the importance of recycling site waste and reclaiming materials.
DDS Demolition endeavour to cater to all of our clients requirements, irrespective of size or complexity.
Soft strip out involves removing all non-strucural elements from a building. This is done before further work can be done be that full demolition or refurb work.
The kinds of things removed during a soft strip out include:
Doors internal and external
Bathroom and kitchen fittings
Lighting and light fittings
Ceilings and Internal walls (non-structural)
Machinery and equipment left in the building
Furniture and Carpets
What are the Challenges with Soft Stripping?
As with any demolition process there are challenges that DDS group address and manage during any strip out job. Noise and dust are always a consideration and we use a range of tactics to mitigate any dangers or issues related to this. These range from making sure our team and others on site are using RPE is needed as well as using dust suppression techniques. Noice is something that is hard ot avoid but DDS make an effort to make sure the work producing the most noise is done during the day to avoid disrution where possible.

The scope included isolation and termination of existing services, strip out, asbestos removals and demolition within secure hoarded exclusion […]
