Industrial demolition of the former MAN 2 Engineering Block for client Givaudan.
As Principal Contractor, we recently completed the demolition of the former MAN 2 Engineering Block for client Givaudan, at their operational site in Ashford, Kent. Working within a live industrial environment, the project required a carefully planned approach to protect adjacent pipe gantries and live services, while ensuring surrounding operations remained fully functional throughout the works; scaffolding and containment measures were installed around the structure to control dust and debris migration, with continuous water suppression using during demolition activities.
The works combined initial manual soft strip operations, including removal of all high-level glazing, with conventional mechanical demolition techniques to safely dismantle the building in a controlled sequence. All demolition arisings, predominantly metal materials, were segregated and managed in line with circular economy principles, maximising recycling opportunities and minimising waste to landfill. The project was completed safely, efficiently, and without disruption to the wider facility operations, including the one-way vehicle access routes.
